What is MyHealthPEI?

MyHealthPEI is a secure online service that provides eligible Island residents 16 years of age and older convenient, 24/7 access to components of their personal health information. Additionally, MyHealthPEI can be used as a tool to keep track of your health progress and personal health information. MyHealthPEI is an important step in PEI’s vision for offering Island residents online access to various government services.

What is the difference between MyPEI and MyHealthPEI?

MyHealthPEI is part of a larger initiative called MyPEI.  MyPEI acts like the front door of a house where, once inside, you can move from room to room depending on the services and information you want to access.  One of the many services – or rooms in the house – is MyHealthPEI.  You must first create a verified a MyPEI account to access MyHealthPEI.

Is it mandatory to use MyHealthPEI and if I don’t, how do I access my personal health information?

Using MyHealthPEI is not mandatory! While there are many benefits to using MyHealthPEI, such as instant, on demand access to your personal health information, Island residents can choose when or if they decide to use it.  For those who choose not to use MyHealthPEI, you can access your health record as you always have from Health PEI by following these instructions: Request health and medical record.

What will I be able to see and do in MyHealthPEI?

Having access to your personal health information empowers you to better manage your health, track your progress towards personal health goals, view your test results, have access to immunization records and have more informed discussions with an in -person or virtual healthcare provider.

MyHealthPEI will help you to:  
  1. Access components of your personal health record. Track and access your vaccinations, test results, and other reports day-to-day or in the event of a medical issue while travelling.
  2. Track your health. Record and track progress toward your health goals, such as lowering your cholesterol level.  
  3. Make the most of your visits to health care professionals. Be ready with questions you may have or information you want to share, such as blood pressure readings, since your last visit.  
  4. Manage your health between visits. Upload and track information from home-monitoring devices such as a smart watch and eventually devices such as a blood pressure cuff.
Do any other provinces offer residents online access to their personal health information?

Yes! Eight other provinces currently provide access to personal health information online.

Who can register for MyHealthPEI?

To be eligible for MyHealthPEI you must be an Island resident who is 16 years or older and have:

  • An active PEI driver’s license or Voluntary ID
  • An active PEI health card
  • One further piece of identification from the following list:
    • Canadian Birth Certificate
    • Canadian Citizenship Card or Certificate
    • Permanent Resident Card
    • Secure Certificate of Indian Status
    • Canadian Passport
    • NEXUS Card

You must first create your verified MyPEI account then add your PEI Health Card information to access MyHealthPEI.

When can I register for MyHealthPEI?

Small groups of users are currently testing MyHealthPEI into Fall 2025. Once testing is done, registration will be open to Island residents later in 2025.

Can I schedule appointments in MyHealthPEI?

Not yet but this feature is planned for the future.

Can a health care provider access my personal health information?

At this time, in-person or virtual health care providers will not have direct access to the information in your MyHealthPEI account. Beginning in summer 2025, pharmacists will have access to lab results and immunizations to help them while providing your care. In the future, other health care provider groups may have access to diagnostic imaging reports like x-rays, but only when providing you health care. If you do want to share information, you can download your information to your computer or mobile device to share with an in-person or virtual health care provider.

What do I do once I receive results in MyHealthPEI?

If there is anything concerning, the health care provider who ordered the test will contact you.

If you have any other questions or concerns about recent tests, please speak with the care provider who ordered the test.

Can I see the pictures from my X-ray, ultrasound, CT, or MRI?

While MyHealthPEI currently does not provide access to diagnostic images, access to your diagnostic imaging reports is being planned for the future.

Can I see my prescriptions?

While MyHealthPEI currently does not provide access to viewing prescriptions, this is planned for the future.

Can I have access to someone else’s personal health information on in MyHealthPEI, such as my parents or children? 

Not at this time. Sharing your personal health information with a health care provider or family member is planned for the future. However, due to privacy and consent limitations, accessing your dependents’ records will require more time and consideration.

If your child or dependent is 16 years of age or older, they can access their personal health information in MyHealthPEI by creating their own MyPEI Account and entering their PEI Health Card number. You can, however,if this is not an option, you can request a copy of your child or dependent’s health information from Health PEI by following these instructions: Request health and medical record.

Can someone under the age of 16 access their personal health information in MyHealthPEI? 

During this initial release of MyHealthPEI, you must be 16 years of age or older to access your personal health information in MyHealthPEI.  Reducing the minimum age is being considered for the future.

I am an emancipated minor and want access to my personal health record. How do I gain access to MyHealthPEI?  

Currently, there is no process to grant access to MyHealthPEI for an emancipated minor under the age of 16. However, you can access your health record from Health PEI by following these instructions:  Request health and medical record.

Can I change or delete information in MyHealthPEI?

You cannot change or delete any clinical reports or results that come from PEI’s Electronic Health Record system. However, you can change your personal health information that you have entered into your MyHealthPEI profile such as height, weight, insulin, blood glucose and blood pressure.
