Coming in Spring 2025, lab results for tests conducted that are in PEI’s Electronic Health Record from that month onward will be available in MyHealthPEI.

MyHealthPEI FAQ's - Lab Results

MyHealthPEI displays results from general lab tests ordered by health care providers at health care sites across Prince Edward Island. This includes tests ordered by health care providers at community locations in hospitals.

Currently, only the following lab results are available through MyHealthPEI include:

  • Chemistry
  • Cardiac function and lipid profiles
  • Nutritional status
  • Kidney and Liver function
  • Endocrine and tumor markers
  • Blood gases
  • Haematology
  • Coagulation (e.g. INR orders)
  • Immunology (including common Allergens)
  • Therapeutic drug monitoring
  • Other drug screening
  • Serum toxicology
  • Urine screening

Over the coming months, expanded lab results from cytology, microbiology, blood bank and pathology tests will be available through MyHealthPEI.

It will be at least four days after the test is processed and completed for your lab results to be available to you in MyHealthPEI. Some lab tests take more time to process or may have to be sent off Island and will take longer to arrive in MyHealthPEI.

In Spring 2025, general lab results will be available in MyHealthPEI.

If you need access to lab results from before then, you can request a copy of your lab results from Medical Records at Health PEI.

Even if you have a PEI health card at the time of the lab test in another province, the results will not be available to you in MyHealthPEI. You can request a copy of your lab results from the out-of-province health care provider who ordered the test or from the health care facility where the lab test was done.
No, at this time you cannot view your child’s/dependent’s records in MyHealthPEI. However, you can request a copy of your child’s/dependent’s lab results from Health PEI
If you find incorrect information displayed in your lab results, please contact our eHealth Support Desk at 1-833-734-1873 and select option 4.

In most circumstances, the health care provider who ordered the lab test will follow up with you if they have any concerns about your lab results. Your provider may need some extra time to talk with other members of your health care team before they can give you a full explanation of the results.

If you have questions or concerns about your test results you can contact the health care provider who ordered the test. You can also contact your primary care provider,a virtual care provider or call 8-1-1.
